A gorgeous wedding by the talented Amber from Naturalight Photography. I always love sharing weddings from such wonderful photographers, and even more so when the weddings take place on the Mornington Peninsula, where I grew up. Particularly when looking at winery venues on the Peninsula, it’s hard to envisage what your big day will look like there, so it’s great to see a reference. And seriously, what better way to end your big night than with an array of colourful fireworks to celebrate the happy couple?! Love it!
When I saw this image from Lauren Larsen, I was instantly drawn to the couple and their moment. The placement and use of a tram scroll to capture their relationship journey was beautiful and visually engaging, plus the perfect memorabilia to include in their home! I love the use of this for their wedding day and wedding photographs, have any of you done this for your own wedding?
I recently came across this beautiful wedding from Corey Sleap in Melbourne, and was instantly obsessed and wanted to see more! The photographs certainly bring the stunning wedding to life, and with a dancing-down-the-aisle wedding party, you can be sure that was hard to capture each moment! What truly comes through in these photos, are the love these two have for one another. The adoring gazes and happiness shine through in these images, with photographer Corey Sleap admitting that Kath and Bala’s wedding was a bit of a tear jerker, “one of those weddings where I find myself using the camera as a tear hiding mask”. For the full photographs of this stunning wedding, head over to Corey’s site. Location… Read More →
When Mel contacted me about her engagement shoot with Adiz Photography I had no idea how incredible the images were going to be. I think breathtaking is a pretty good summation of how I felt when I saw this shoot! Here’s a selection of their beautiful photos! I’m lucky enough to be attending her and Rezwan’s wedding today, so stay tuned for more photos to come from this beautiful couple! I recently caught up with the uber talented Jerome Cole, who shared his wisdom of what to look out for on the day of your wedding when it comes to photography. Jerome is one seriously great photographer, and even nicer guy! Definitely someone you want shooting your wedding. When it comes to choosing a photographer, one of the things that sometimes get overlooked is the chemistry between the photographer and the couple. You spend the whole day with your photographer, so you have to get along with them! Jerome is quick to note that you need to find a photographer that you instantly ‘click’ with, and can imagine spending that day with. Make sure to look carefully at each photographer’s… Read More →
Pinterest certainly helps you find some beautiful content sometimes… and I recently came across this beautiful gaggle of women and the most perfectly stunning barn wedding from last year via Wedding Chicks. Does 4 women constitute a “gaggle”? I’m sticking to it… I loved the overall styling of this wedding once I saw the feature! But what really drew me in was the beautiful simplicity of the bride and her ‘maids look. It’s such a fresh spin on vintage, and captured so wonderfully via Debra Eby, you felt a connection as you move through these photographs. Beautifully ensembled neutral bridesmaid dresses! Bridesmaid dresses were via Etsy, designer River of Romansk. Full wedding feature at Wedding Chicks. Featured photo courtesy of… Read More →
Rather than creating a big ‘to do’ list that can be quite overwhleming, we recommend breaking things down into the areas that are top priorities: the invitations and stationery, the cake, your ceremony & reception, your dress & your ‘maids dress, flowers and of course, the photography. Your big day will live with you for the rest of your married life, so why not make sure the images reflect your happy day? Finding the right photographer is paramount, and can be a stressful task! We spoke to the very talented Shannon Pawsey, owner of Sorrento Wedding Photography, whom has been featured a number of times on Something Borrowed. Shannon has some great tips on choosing a photographer and gives us… Read More →
I love the idea of wedding guests getting involved at the wedding. Photo booths have been a long popular way of capturing the moment visually and a take-home for the guest. One idea that I definitely hope to have at my own wedding! It’s such a nice way for guests to mingle and engage with each other, plus you get all the photos instantly! I came across a few great ideas recently, and this one from Style Me Pretty is my fave. Easy to hang up in an area of your choice, and a momento with the date specifics that looks like a polaroid. Love it! This one I found via Pinterest and don’t have an original source, but I… Read More →
