I’m very lucky to have gone to school with some seriously talented women. Recently I’ve been obsessing over the absolutely beautiful bridal collections being created by my former classmate Sandra Banken who launched her brand, Elvi Design, with her mother Birgitta in 2011. I’ve been wanting to write about Elvi Design for so long, I’ve never seen anything like the pieces Sandra and Birgitta have been producing and I’m so excited to share them with you! The Perth-based label has become increasingly well known for their vintage-inspired couture gowns – each individually designed and tailored to ensure every bride looks mind blowing on her wedding day. Bespoke weddings (which I am LOVING) have become increasingly popular over the past couple… Read More →
I found this via Pinterest last night, and have desperately been trying to track down the original to find the photographer! Unfortunately, no luck! But, this stunning dress by Jason Wu is just exquisite! I would absolutely be happy to walk down the aisle in this ray of sunshine! Has anyone worn a non-traditional colour gown to their wedding? I would love to hear from you and see some photos! Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
I love getting Lisa Ho emails, there’s always something in them that I want to buy! Last week was no exception: the Bridal Boutique edition! Featured within were Lisa Ho’s latest collection of Bridal wear, and got bit a little bit excited! My favourite one was the peplum style silk taffeta strapless gown, it’s very on trend for this season and reasonably priced at $1,999! This simply beautifully crafted silk tulle bodice and low neckline creates an elegant and classic gown. This more elaborate gown is also among my favourites, with it’s intricate hand sewn sequins and delicately frayed georgette to finish off this stunning gown. Check out Lisa Ho’s website for more info.
Introducing a beautiful new gown from one of my favourite designers, Karen Willis Holmes. From KWH Blog: The stunning Clementine Gown is draped in a very flattering silky tulle fabric, giving this bridal dress a simply divine and ethereal touch. The bodice is embellished with a floral inspired diamante embroidery detail and finished on the waist to accentuate the area. This gown would suit an outdoor vintage inspired wedding or even a classy affair indoors. KWH also have an upcoming event for brides across the East Coast of Australia, not to be missed! I am so pumped to introduce Kate Piasecka to you! A beautiful friend of mine, who also happens to be one of the most talented writers I know! Stay tuned for her book kids, it’ll be worth it! Kate went to the Collette Dinnigan opening in Armadale this week, and offers us her take on the evening! ~~~~~ I don’t know about you, but when I was small all I wanted to be was a dancer. A ballerina to be specific. I didn’t quite realise that dream but I still adore being swept up in the frou-frou and the fantasy that is ballet. Last night I was lucky enough to attend the official opening of iconic Australian Designer Collette Dinnigan’s… Read More →
I came across this wedding after finding this photo on Pinterest and falling in love with the pink and white striped bridesmaid outfits! I loved that they weren’t actually dresses but done beautifully with the golden neutral tshirt style to complete the outfit and match the bride. After trying to find the photographer of this image to see more photos of the gorgeous bridesmaid dresses, I came across their story. Emi & Chase have a dedicated site that tells the stories of their lives together, including their beautiful wedding photos! But I’m here to focus on the bridesmaid dresses, because I was instantly drawn to how different these ensembles were and loved the touch of pink! Highly recommend checking out… Read More →
As far as a bridal party goes, these guys surely take the cake. Stunning dress, gorgeous mismatched bridesmaid dresses and handsome fellas! I really adore the style of the bride’s dress, classic and timeless. Photograph via Style Me Pretty // Photography by Elizabeth Messina
Vera Wang is synonomous with a fairy tale wedding. This season is no exception. Vera Wang has just released her new bridal collection for 2013, showcasing rich red gowns with a range of textures, fabrics and volumes. Each gown emphasises various elements of the body, and another part is accentuated with excessive layers of mesh and tulle. The collection is said to be inspired by the traditional Chinese wedding colour palette and the celebration of love. Increasingly brides are opting for something less traditional, but it’s a bold move. Vera Wang produces all her gowns in a more classic ivory or white, but doing the runway show in the hues of crimson and reds has certainly proved effective.
I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful memories from Chanel & Thomas’ big day over the weekend in Adelaide…but for now, here’s the stunningly happy couple being congratulated by friends and family until I get around to posting about it. How amazing is Chanel’s Monique Lhuillier dress, wait til you see the whole thing! It was the most exquisite, beautiful and fun day, I feel so privileged to have been a part of it. Xx
